About
I’m not quite sure what this blog is about, or why I’m writing it. It started out as a way for me to explore my relationship with food, and as a way for me to keep a record of things I have tried and liked, or disliked, for future reference. My first post tells of what I was thinking when I started this.
But just in case any strangers find themselves stumbling here and wish to know something about the author, I am a final year geology student, and I have, amongst my friends developed a little bit of a reputation as a baker, taking cake into labs tends to have that effect. I have always loved baking, and I’ll jump at any opportunity, read: excuse, to bake.
I want to be a little more adventurous with what I make in the kitchen, I’ve ticked croissants off the list, but I want to make puff pastry, perfect my bread ma
king (its far from perfect) and cook more fish, amongst other things. I’m hoping this blog might help encourage me to to that.
The cupcake on the right is an image based off I drawing I did of the cupcake on the cover of the hardback version of Nigella’s Domestic Goddess. I chose ‘Cakes and Sweets’ as my AS art exam title, from a long list of better titles, that says it all, I think.
